Suitable for managing heavy to severe levels of incontinence, belted pads have been designed to provide maximum levels of security for those with limited to no mobility.
Using belted incontinence pads
They feature a unisex incontinence pad along with a belt or strap, which can easily be fastened together around the waist. This makes the pads much easier to change than some incontinence pants, so they are ideal for those with carers.
Benefits of belted incontinence pads
Belted incontinence pads have a range of benefits that could make them the right choice for you. From easy changing to being suitable for faecal incontinence, these types of incontinence pads with belts have unique features that are designed as a solution to many incontinence difficulties.
Easy changing
They can be worn in the place of regular underwear, and allow for easy changing in any position, making them much less intrusive than alternative products. The belt design means pads can be changed without needing to remove every piece of clothing, which is especially great for those with limited mobility or who need support from a carer.
Great for faecal incontinence
Thanks to their multi-layered protection, belted incontinence pads can manage both urinary and faecal incontinence, providing reliable protection all throughout the day and night.
Comfortable and discreet
The adjustable belt keeps the pad securely in place without the need for tight-fitting underwear, offering a more comfortable fit that helps to reduce irritation, while always staying discreet under clothing.
Belted incontinence pads FAQs
How do belted incontinence pads differ from regular pads?
Belted pads use an adjustable elastic belt instead of adhesive strips. These provide better security and can be applied without having to remove clothing. For example, the belt can be fastened around the waist with the pads placed and brought up between the legs, where you can then attach them to the belt.
Who should use belted incontinence pads?
They're ideal for active, independent users with moderate to heavy incontinence because of their security and fixation system and people with limited mobility who need caregiver assistance, as they can be replaced with minimal movement. Belted incontinence pads are also great for people who prefer not to wear tight-fitting underwear, as the belt holds the pads in place without the need for supportive underwear.
Can belted pads be used for bowel incontinence?
Yes, many belted pads are designed to handle both urinary and faecal incontinence, especially our products with higher absorbency.
How tight should the belt be?
Ideally, you want the belt to fit snugly, but comfortably. This is so they’re tight enough that they don’t slip down, but not so tight that they cause discomfort.
