The RomaChair is manufactured from 1`` (25.4mm) steel tubing and is designed to carry patients weighing up to 190 Kgs (30 stone).

The steel frame is seamless and there are no dirt trapping points. It is coated with a special ``Romaplas`` layer which prevents microbial growth. All other components are also manufactured from materials that prevent microbial growth. This significant new development will be of particular interest to those involved in infection control.

The Romachair is unique and allows accessories to be fitted to the chair on either side without the need for any tools. This makes the change of use from toileting to showering very quick and easy. This same design feature allows for our Side Transfer Pad to be fitted in seconds and greatly improves the ease and safety for patients carrying out a side transfer manoeuvre. When not required, the Side Transfer Pad can be stored on the back of the chair, reducing the likelihood of it becoming lost or misplaced.

The armrest locking catch has been designed to have almost no dirt trapping points and no visible nut or bolt fixings which could allow water ingress. When in operation the locking catch is virtually self-cleaning and automatically dislodges any debris that is present on the lever. All parts of the Romachair are manufactured from materials that will not support the growth of Microbial bacteria such as MRSA, E.Coli, Salmonella and Listeria and can help prevent infections caused by cross contamination.

The Romachair should be cleaned using standard Hospital cleaning practices.
